the boutique :: design, architecture, and display
Eliza Page called up a team of two of Austin's finest designers to envision the contemporary jewel
box. Situated in the lively live-eat-shop environs of Austin's 2nd Street District, the
boutique is a collaboration between local architect Kevin Gallaugher and interior
designer Kasey McCarty, both with experience at the nationally acclaimed Dick Clark
Architecture. They joined forces on the floor-to-ceiling project, having worked on high profile Austin eateries, residences, and salons.
Sidewalk shoppers enter through the glass doors into a smart, crisp space, more of a gallery than a store. The custom-made cases, shelves, and tables act as a blank canvas for the accessories and reflect the aesthetic of the modern, well-crafted items.
Glasspaneled nooks line the walls at eye level, showcasing the fine jewelry lines, while a long, rectangular table dominates the center of the space and displays more fashion-forward lines, with everything displayed in order to be effortlessly viewed and easy to try on.
