Join us for a Jewelry Trunk Show and Meet Lisa on Saturday, April 6 from 12-4! Shop, sip, and shop her amazing designs!
All work is made in her East Austin studio, her team includes Lindsay, Sarah, and Lauren, skilled jewelers, who studied jewelry and have been working with Lisa for over a year. Sarah showed me the oxidation process, a chemical process in which metal such as silver, is blackened as a reaction to sulphur and oxygen. Oxidized sterling silver is often mixed with other metals in Lisa’s designs, I am a big fan of the Oxidized Sterling Silver and 18k Bimetal Hammered Rectangle Bracelet featured below. Her bold, industrial style jewelry has a whimsical twist and ranges anywhere from $90-$1200, for the one of a kind items. Her jewelry is unique, wearable jewelry that appeals to a wide array of people and can be worn during the day or with a little black dress in the evening.
Lauren was hammering a small sterling silver circle and showed me the hammering process that adds texture and character to these handmade pieces. Lisa’s cats, Lucky and Smoky, are an important addition to her team as well, lounging around the studio. While Lisa, Lauren and Sarah shared techniques and showed me around the studio, Lindsay was working at Eliza Page. Lindsay is a metalsmith at Lisa Crowder’s studio and we are incredibly fortunate to also have Lindsay working with us at the store! A perfect person to answer all of your questions about the process and craftsmanship that is put into each individual piece of jewelry!
Lisa has become a local celebrity in the jewelry world here, she was recently nominated as a semi-finalist for the Future of Design Contest at the Tucson Gem Show. and was a featured designer at the American Craft Council show in Baltimore.
