HOW IT WORKS
CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS
CUSTOM PROCESS
1. DESIGN MEETING
You will work directly with a Custom Design Consultant to discuss your jewelry ideas either in person or via email and phone. It’s helpful if you come to us with pictures of anything that inspires your design idea: a picture of a ring you’ve seen online, or even a photo of a fabric pattern or architecture that you like. If you don’t have a vision in mind, we will work diligently to create the perfect one.
2. DESIGN & STONE SOURCING
We'll work together to refine the design using sketches and visual references. If stone sourcing is needed, a $700 deposit is required and will be applied toward the final cost of your ring. Significant stones are purchased outright. If you're using heirloom stones, we charge a $500 heirloom handling fee, which includes gemstone testing and inspection to ensure each stone is durable and safe to set, along with an insurance replacement value appraisal for your records.
3. DRAWINGS/RENDERINGS/APPROVAL
We will work together to refine the design using images or design sketches. If required, stone sourcing requires a $500 deposit, which goes towards the final cost of the ring. You will also purchase your significant stones outright. We will work with your heirloom stones, and for those we charge a $500 fee. This fee is in consideration of the insurance replacement value appraisal you will receive, as well as gemstone testing and inspection of heirloom gemstones and diamonds to confirm their suitability and safety for setting.
4. JEWELRY PRODUCTION
Once the final design meets your approval, the jewelry then goes into production and can be brought to life. All payments made during the initial design phases will go toward the final price, and at least half of the final fee must be paid to start jewelry production. In production your jewelry is cast, set, polished, and finished with all the details you designed. The normal timeframe for creating custom jewelry is about 6-8 weeks from the date of final approval. Some designs can be rushed in a shorter time period for a fee.
